Primedic HeartSave myPAD - Compact Semi-Automatic AED with Colour LCD Display
The Primedic HeartSave myPAD with LCD Display is one of the smallest AEDs available in the UK that includes a full-colour LCD screen and built-in LTE hardware. It measures just 150mm × 150mm and weighs 1.1kg, compact enough to fit in a kitchen drawer, a bedside cabinet, or a vehicle glove box, yet it carries a 4.3-inch animated colour display and LTE connectivity hardware that most portable AEDs of this size simply do not include.

Most AEDs with colour displays are considerably larger devices aimed at professional or public access installations. The Primedic HeartSave myPAD brings that visual rescue guidance to a genuinely pocketable form factor, without the data plan cost you may not need.
If you want a compact AED with clear animated visual guidance and the option to add monitoring later, this is the right model. An 8-year LTE data plan is available to purchase separately from Defib Store if you want to add remote monitoring to the device at a later stage.
One of the smallest AEDs with a colour LCD screen - 150mm × 150mm, 1.1kg
At 150mm × 150mm and 1.1kg, the Primedic HeartSave myPAD is one of the most compact AEDs currently available in the UK. Its footprint is roughly the size of a hardback book. It fits in a kitchen drawer, a vehicle glove box, a bedside cabinet, or a desk drawer at work, ready immediately and discreetly stored.
What makes this size significant is not just convenience. In a cardiac emergency, every second matters. An AED that is small enough to be stored where people actually are, it removes the barrier of "where do we keep it." The 1.1kg weight means it can be picked up and carried at speed. The carry case supplied with the device makes it transportable between locations without any additional equipment. This can also be used for drone delivery.
What the 4.3" colour LCD screen actually changes
The myPAD Core guides rescuers through LED icons and audio prompts. The myPAD with LCD Display adds a 4.3-inch full-colour screen that runs animated step-by-step illustrations simultaneously with every voice instruction. In a cardiac emergency, stress significantly reduces a person's ability to process spoken instructions alone. The colour screen provides that second channel.
What appears on the screen:
- Operation guiding - animated rescue instructions that adapt to the user's pace
- CPR animation - visual guidance during chest compressions
- CPR quality - real-time compression feedback (requires SavePads PLUS CS with CPR feedback sensor)
- Residual battery - charge level visible throughout the rescue
- Intervention time - elapsed rescue time and progress
- ECG waveform -1channel live trace of the patient's heart rhythm
- Shock count: the number of shocks delivered, shown throughout the rescue
The screen is also what makes the myPAD particularly effective in noisy environments, busy public spaces, machinery areas, sports halls, where voice prompts alone can be hard to hear.
Semi - automatic myPAD AED
The Primedic HeartSave myPAD with LCD Display is a semi-automatic defibrillator. When switched on and pads are applied:
- The device analyses the patient's heart rhythm automatically (8–12 seconds to shock readiness)
- If a shock is advised, both the LCD screen and voice prompt instruct you to press the shock button
- You press the button, and the device delivers the shock at the appropriate energy level
- The device prompts you to begin or continue CPR
If no shock is needed, the device does not charge, and no shock is delivered. It is not possible to accidentally shock someone whose rhythm does not require it.
Semi-automatic operation is preferred by many organisations and training programmes because the human confirmation step gives rescuers an active role in the process. Both semi-automatic and fully automatic delivery are clinically equivalent in outcome.
A fully automatic version of the Primedic HeartSave myPAD with LCD Display is also available -
LTE hardware built in - Activate data plan when you're ready
The Primedic HeartSave myPAD with LCD Display has LTE hardware built in, meaning the radio and connectivity components are already part of the device. To activate remote monitoring, you simply insert a physical SIM card into the SIM slot (located behind the battery pack).
Without a SIM or an active data plan:
- The device functions fully as a defibrillator, no SIM or data plan is needed to deliver a shock
- The myAED Config app connects via Bluetooth for initial setup, language selection, and firmware updates
- Daily self-tests run internally (see below)
- Remote alerts and cloud monitoring are not active
When you're ready to activate monitoring, purchase a data plan through Defib Store. We'll guide you through the process; you'll need to share your device's serial number, which is used by the manufacturer to provision a SIM card configured specifically for your device. Once inserted, the SIM automatically connects to the myPRIMEDIC Control cloud platform.

Primedic HeartSave myPAD FAQs
Does this AED need an active data plan to function as a defibrillator?
No. The Primedic HeartSave myPAD with LCD Display functions fully as a defibrillator without any data plan. The LTE hardware is built in but inactive until a plan is purchased. The device performs daily self-tests internally, and the myPRIMEDIC Config app works via Bluetooth for initial setup and firmware updates without any data connection.
Can I add connectivity to this device later?
Yes. The device has LTE hardware built in and a physical SIM card slot behind the battery pack. When you're ready, purchase a data plan through Defib Store, we'll support you through the process. You'll need to provide your device serial number, which the manufacturer uses to provision a SIM card configured specifically for your device. Once inserted, it automatically connects to the myPRIMEDIC Control cloud platform.
Can I use this AED on children?
Yes. Press the child button on the front of the device before placing the pads. The AED immediately sets the energy to 50 joules, appropriate for children under 8 years of age or under 25kg. No separate paediatric pads are required; the standard SavePads PLUS electrodes supplied with the device work in child mode.
Does the Primedic HeartSave myPAD connect to home Wi-Fi?
No. The myPAD uses LTE, the same mobile network technology used by smartphones. Even when a data plan is active, it does not connect to your home router or require a Wi-Fi password. This means it works anywhere with a mobile signal, including rural homes where broadband may be unreliable.
Can this AED be used without any first aid training?
Yes. As soon as you switch the device on, voice instructions and animated LCD illustrations guide you through every step. The device analyses the heart rhythm automatically and only instructs you to press the shock button if a shock is genuinely needed. You cannot deliver a shock to someone who does not require one.
